Took a walk on a nice sunny day.

Alpha, you have some really large, weird growth on your hip -- maybe you need to get that looked at (hee, hee).

While we were out, we saw this pretty horse.

Super tongue contest

One of the dogs we met on our walk wanted to to hold a super tongue contest.

I told him not to bother -- I am unbeatable.

But he still wanted to.

Oh puleeze. Not even close.

But I will say he was a nice dog.

Looks like someone has be snow snuffling.

This happens when I smell something under the snow and I try to get a better sniff.

Foggy

Sometimes it gets cold and foggy in the woods around Germany.

But we still try to get out and take a walk.

Remember those small, furry critters that lived in the forests in Star Wars, Return of the Jedi?

Well I think I could maybe pass for one, donchathink?

Certainly have enough fluff, and with those tall trees in the background, I'm looking a little shorter than usual.

At least they are "tall" rather than "wide". In fact, this makes them look pretty skinny.

In amongst the birch trees

This was a cool park Alpha found in neighboring Sindelfingen. He stumbled across it on one of his exploration runs. Which, by the way, I hear is a great way to run extra distance, because he often gets lost (hee, hee)

Anywho. We don't see many birch trees over here in Germany, so this was a nice treat. Like a mini-visit to New Hampshire.

Yep, we're happy campers.

Wow, check it out. I'm almost lost among the buttercups in a nearby field.

Of course, my cuteness does really stand out, donchathink?

Gone shopping

This weekend, my parents took me shopping and lots of walking. This was a tour of vegetarian stores, and a vegetarian lunch in Vaihingen and Stuttgart. We were walking from about 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Wowsa.

But here's the really cool thing. I met Colleen. She's on extended TDY to EUCOM, and really missing her beagle. So I helped give her a doggy-fix. In fact, she wants to be my dog-sitter. How cool is that!

So my Mom and Colleen talked it over, and I'm going to stay with Colleen and her husband week after next. That will let Mom go with Alpha on a trip to Israel. Sounds like a win-win to me. You should see what a great doggie massage Colleen gives. Woo-hoo!

Here we are going home on the train. Can you tell I'm a tuckered out pooch! But it was a great day!

Getting a hug

Assume the position

So this is another "assume the position" pose. Basically, whenever the 'rents head out to run errands and I'm not joining them, I usually jump up on *our* bed, and sit on my dog blanket, where I have a good view of the front door.

That way, should anyone come in, I'll know whether to bark ferociously at the intruder, or jump down, run around, wag my tail, and greet my parents like they've been gone for hours (even if it was just a few minutes).

Yes, I know -- very generous of moi.
