World's largest water bowl

So if it's good to drink lots of water;

And if it's good to cool off by getting into water;

Then it must be super-duper to drink with a big tongue while cooling off in the world's largest water bowl.

Frito was one lucky dog.

What's Frito thinking?

(a) "Ummm.  This appears to be a wee bit small for a swim, donchathink?"

(b) "I was hot just a minute ago ... now I'm freezing my buns off!"

(c) "Is it bath time already?"

(d) "Drop me in ice cold water one more time and I'll dry off on your clothes."

or (e) "I really love Alpha for keeping me cool on a hot day."

Gotta be "e" right?

Time for a drink

And no, it's not the kinda drink Alpha had last night (x2).

Shouldn't be playing with fire, there, Alpha old buddy (hee, hee).

This is what I'm talking about -- yummy fresh water.

It's my absolute favorite -- especially when it's cold.

Yep, this stuff is lip-smackin' good.

Take a hint Alpha -- this is what you should be drinkin'.

Oh yeah, and try it out of a doggie bowl -- that would be fun to see.

Drink when you can

Early in our walk, we came upon a nice stream.

It had a path down to the water, so I went for a drink.

Gotta get the water when you can ;-) Especially when the 'rents are still doling it out at home.

Boy, that's steeper than it looks.

Hold on to that leash Mom and don't let me fall in.

That would be chilly!

More water please

Hey Alpha?

Can I have some more water please?

Thank you!

(and let's plan to meet back here is an hour ... every hour ;-)

HM Frito

So here's the deal. I'm almost totally better now, since the vet has increased my dosage of medicine.

My fur, er hair, is coming in beautifully. I don't seem to be shivering as much. My hoppers are working great.

But there is one remaining problem: I want to drink lots and lots of water.

So my parents give me little saucers of water whenever I ask for it. Even in the middle of the night. 2-3 times.

And then I usually ask to go outside to pee. Needless to say, it makes for a restless night for everyone.

But hey, that's why I'm called "HM Frito". Do you know what 'HM' stands for?

Some think it stands for "His Majesty". But Alpha figures it just stands for "high maintenance". Either way, I'm special ;-)

Smilin' at the water hole

Back again at the water hole.

Anytime I get unrestricted access to nice cold water these days, I'm a happy camper.

Looks like Mom's pretty happy too.

Yummy water

I'm on a restricted water intake diet, per the vet.

Something to do with too much water washing out the effects of my medicine.

So boy-oy-boy do I like it when they let me drink out of the pond.

They can't measure how much water I drink (hee, hee)

Splish-splash

Ummmm.

Hey Mom ... watchu doin'?

That's what I thought you might be doing!

Well that's OK, 'cause actually I was very toasty.

Thanks for cooling me down.

Baptized?

Yo! - Alpha - what's with all the water on the head?

Are you trying to baptize me? I didn't think you were into rituals ;-)

And is it really necessary to get *all* of me wet?

Yes, on a hot day, I suppose it is. Thanks Alpha.

Man made stream?

Well, we are on another neat walk today. And it is hot again. So lookee here what we found. A hollowed-out log, with wter flowing continuously through it. Looks like a man-made stream for me to cool off in.

OK, Alpha ... I'm cool enough now ...

OK ... not kidding now. Time for me to get out. Are you going to help? ;-)

Cool Dog

And what's the best thing to do when you are a hot dog ... well take a dip of course.

Now I am a cool dog! Life is really so simple ;-)

Keeping cool with Mom

It's been really hot lately. So anytime we're outside of the RV (and its air conditioning), we have to find some way to keep cool.

That usually involves a dip in the nearest river or pond.

And then afterwards, if I'm lucky, I might get to roll on the grass and do my froggy legs.

Well, actually, anyone that gets to see me do that is the lucky one (hee, hee).

Not so hard

Hey, this bi-ped thing is not so hard. Look, I can even do it in the water. If that's what distinguishes you humans, I'm not that impressed ;-)

Wanna know what else is not that hard?

Bloggin'. Frito-a-Day now has over 500 posts. A-woo, a-hoo!

And there will be a test on all of them shortly -- better study ;-)
