A tradition started long ago when Alli went on travel and was missing her dog, Frito. I would e-mail her a picture a day. Now we have a blog to share with each other, and the world. Hope you find them interesting. By the way ... does your dog have a blog?

Another walk, another bath, another roll
Well, with the recent snow coupled with melting temperatures, it's getting pretty messy out there on the streets.
So I got another bath (which I rather enjoy)!
And then, of course, it's drying time. And you know what that means, donchu?
Well, if not, you can check out this little movie clip:
Run, Alpha, Run
This here is my congratulatory photo. You dun good Alpha.
Alpha just got finished running in the Eastern States 20 mile race. It starts in Maine, runs through New Hampshire, and finishes in Massachusetts.
He's using it as a training run for the Eugene, OR marathon in May. And with my encouragement (see the T-shirt he wore? ;-), he managed to run 20 miles in 2 hours 59 minutes, or an 8:59 min/mile pace. That's better than he expected. Woo-hoo.
Let's do some more training runs together, Alpha, just as soon as you recover (hee, hee).

I've been tagged?
Well, well, this certainly is a first.
Anyone ever hear of a dog being "tagged"? (That's blogospeak for being given a homework assignment ;-)
Pat tagged moi, of all, er, dogs, to respond to this provocative challenge:
"Come up with six cool words that you'd leave as a memoir."
Hellllooooo Pat. What's a memoir? Donchaknow we dogs live in the present moment. Don't worry about all that "future" stuff, like "what will they remember about me when I'm gone". Gone where? Heck, I'm always coming back with my tail a-waggin', and my tongue a-lickin'.
Nevertheless, let's pretend I was trying to write my (six word) memoir. Here's one idea:
"A lotta love ina little package."
(Clever how I made-up "lotta" and 'ina', donchathink?) I kinda got the idea for making up words from Pat anyways, so that's a little poetic justice, donchaknow ;-)
OK, here's another one:
"I'll be a-lickin', if I'm a-kickin'."
(Not sure where the cowboy-drawl comes from; not real sure of my ancestory.)
Final attempt:
"Already in dog heaven. Thanks, Alli."
(Ya see, this is a clever double entendre -- you humans soooo underestimate us dogs -- because thanks to my girl Alli, who picked me out of all the other dogs, I've been in dog heaven ever since she brought me home. So once I'm gone, rest assured, it can't get any better than this.)
Wow, that was fun, Pat. Thanks.

Loggin' adventure
I got to go on a special loggin' adventure the other day. (OBTW, this is my attempt at loggin' ;-)
Right off our normal walking route, there is a hiking path we never knew about. We found out only because this winter they decided to log the area.
Check out my new pedestal.
We walked for quite a while through the woods on the logging trail, and came to this really neat stream:
Then we tried to cross it -- and couldn't find a way. It really is quite a stream.
Alpha ended up with one hiking boot in the water trying to carry me across on a fallen tree. (Hee hee).
After that, we all decided to beat a hasty retreat.
But in the immortal words of the Governator ... "I'll be back."

Happy Easter
Well, well. It appears this is may be the closest thing you get to a Chocolate bunny in an Easter Basket.
Note the elongated "bunny" ear.
Note the "grass" in the basket that is this photo.
And of course, note my adorable cuteness as a reasonable alternative to all that sugary sweetness that would otherwise not be so healthy for you.
Be assured -- I am very healthy for you!
Love to all -- with a special slobber for Alli -- and Happy Easter!

"Break!"
I'm becoming a very well-trained pooch, these days.
My parents borrowed a TV-series DVD from the library called the "Dog Whisperer". Boy, does that guy know dog-psychology!
So now I am learning how to be a better walker, and to follow my parents voice commands.
In this photo, I've just walked (properly, aka "calm-submissive") to the neighborhood apple orchard, and Alpha has removed my leash and walking collar. But I sit very still until told that I can run free on my own.
That's what he means when he says "Break!" Perhaps you can see my front paws lifting off the ground. I'm just beginning to run like the wind. Woo hoo!
I really like being a well-behaved pooch. Sometimes is just easier to be the follower, and let someone else do all the leading ;-)

A little disheveled
Do I look a little disheveled in this picture?
Well, that's because I'm having my ears treated for some sort of yeast infection that causes them to itch.
So my parents have to put medicine in them each night.
And of course, that tickles them, so I have to shake real hard.
Which manages to make something of a mess of my hair.
But don't worry, this will be over soon, and you know I clean up real good ;-)

You call this Spring?
Well ... they say that Spring has arrived.
*They* need to open a window and look outside ;-)
This is the best I could find -- a small patch of leaves finally uncovered by some melting snow.
Speaking of snow ... this picture was taken about 10 feet away.
Oh well, I know it will eventually get here. But man, what a winter!

Short but sweet
Well, the video is only 3 seconds long, but it's still worth watching.
And why is it only 3 seconds long you ask? Could it be because Alpha actually thought he was just taking a picture, but instead recorded a movie by accident (hee, hee).
See Alpha, with me as the subject, you got lucky once again!
Oh, and BTW, yes, I DO want a treat! Always. ;-)

How to be a dog
I gave Mom and Alpha a quick lesson on how to be a dog.
Ya see, I was walking back home through the fields, and right there, in the middle of the pristine snow, I smelled something gross and disgusting. You couldn't see anything. Whatever it was was buried under the snow. Only someone with a super-sniffer could have found it.
So what did I do next? You guessed it. Stop, drop, and roll. I only wish it had been exposed, because then I would have gotten my vest all gross and disgusting.
Well there you have it. Lesson #1 in how to be a dog.

Art ... and a cutie pie
Well, he's at it again.
Alpha took a perfectly good picture of moi, and messed with it.
But you know what? When you have naturally good looks, it doesn't matter.
Your cuteness shows through all of the alterations.
In fact, I'm the only thing that make his "art" look good (hee, hee).
And if you want to see me in my natural state, check it out:

Ummmmm, No
OK, so before I severely chastise Alpha, let me first acknowledge that it was visciously cold outside.
That said -- Alpha -- what were you thinking? Oh! You thought it looked "cute", did ya? Well check out my "smirk" in response (hee, hee).
Oh yeah, and my butt's getting cold!
Thankfully, Mom quickly eliminated this undersized parka with the oversized hood from my wardrobe. Jeez! I'm sure glad it's usually Mom that dresses me ;-)

Even more high-tech
We did another video-teleconference. But this one was even better!
Look at the computer -- this is a 3-way conference so I can see both Greg and Alli at the same time!
This is because Greg is up to the latest version of Apple's cool OS X (10.5). Cool man.
And if three-way VTC isn't cool enough, check out the crazy things Greg can do to his image.
Oh wait, here's a movie to give you an idea of just how crazy this can get.

Heffalump
Well, you are seeing some of my many disguises. However, this one was not intentional.
You see, I recently had my rabies vaccine, and shortly thereafter, I stated to become a "Heffalump." This is me just sitting on the floor, not wanting to move.
I was just moping around, not feeling well, and eventually, I started limping.
So my parents took me to the Vet again. I've had an auto-immune disorder in the past, so they (and the Vet) were worried about that possibility.
But guess what? I was diagnosed with Lyme disease! In the middle of the winter! So it must have been in my system, and the rabies vaccine did something to my immune system to let it come to the surface.
Well, they started treating me with antibiotics, and the good news is ...
I'm no longer a Heffalump. I feel all back to normal -- my old spunky self!
Woo hoo!

Dogzilla
There's really not much more to say, now, is there.
This is a photo from my shagariffic past, and as you can see ...
I really live up to my nickname ... Dogzilla.
Well, maybe you guys deserve to see one more scary photo ...
Woof to you too!
(Actually, it appears I could pass for an Ewok on Star Wars ... boy, am I multi-talented or what!)

Sanctuary
This is my "sanctuary". It's the place I go when I'm done playing, and I don't want anyone to razz me.
Sometimes I like it when Alpha chases me around the house trying to steal my boney. But then sometimes, I just need to call a "time-out", and I do that by going to my sanctuary -- my bed in the kitchen.
Of course, usually, I prefer to play. Just depends on the mood I'm in.
Here I am playing a little with my boney, in case you have been waiting for a movie. And yes, this is from a while ago, when I was a bit shaggier ;-)
