Explorin' with Mom

Here is Frito in our back woods, doing some exploring with Mom.

He's found a very tasty birch stick, and will be doing some serious gnawing soon.

Frito could be such a dog sometimes.

At least when he wasn't a people. ;-)

Running in the woods

Here I come, running though the leaves.

I'm so fast, I'm almost a blur.

You can almost hear the leaves crunching under my paws.


And such a beautiful trail through the woods.

Lovely fall in Germany. Woo hoo!

Oh, would you look at those cool woods.

Neat place to visit.

Taking a walk in some really cool forest while on a car trip.

Looking around and trying to observe any arboreal creatures.

I'm so dizzy

Hey, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you all have a great turkey day (or tofurky day, or in my parent's case, nice Indian vegan dinner, hee, hee).

So check out this photo. Makes me dizzy just looking at it. Don't ask Alpha how he captured it, because it was just a fluke. But it's kinda neat.

And here's what the woods are like where we were walking that day. All the leaves had just recently come down, and it's rather loud walking through them. And with Alpha's, ahem, great movie skills, I expect this short movie may make you dizzy as well.

We appear to be somewhere very green

and a little dark and dank. Check out all of that moss.


Yup. We're talking green. If it were any greener, I'd be a frog, not a dog (hee, hee)

A walk in the woods

It was a little damp and raining, but kinda cool with all the new green leaves coming out.

I just love all our woodland trails. Hey Mom -- try to keep up ;-)

Forest floor foliage

And by contrast with the "flowers" yesterday, here you just have some neat foliage. This is from the woods surrounding Bebenhausen -- a really cool monastery town surrounded by woods and walking trails. Woo hoo.

Kinda looks like New England

Well, the woods are starting to look a little like New England.


But watch out ... Germany likes to toy with us weather-wise. We had a blizzard just a few days after this photo.

We really do have some neat forest paths over here. Right outside our back door. It's great, and it means I get lots of walks (mostly thanks to Mom, since Alpha has to work). You can see how they just undulate through the forest, and go on and on. It would be easy to become lost, but then, it's not that far to any road if need be.

You can also see the wintery wonderland that gets created in these woods, when the snow is a bit wet and heavy, and then sometimes it can get pretty cold. But Mom bundles up and takes me out anyways. Thanks Mom!

In the sunlight

The sun was setting. And it was nice to get out for a walk in the woods.
