Mountain Trail (2006)

Check out that rocky trail.  You can tell that water runs down it whenever it rains, and makes for some smooth and slippery exposed stones.

This was one of Frito's favorite hikes.  This is Mt. Kearsarge up near Tucker Pond.  It's a quick 30 minute hike to the top, and always a nice little get away.

And this was way back in 2006, so Frito was just a young pup (6 years old).

Happy couple (2006)

Everybody's lookin' happy.  Especially Mom.  Check out that smile.

Frito had a way of bringing out the best in all of us.

Just a dusting (2006)

Frito didn't mind the snow.

Lord knows Mom had enough sweaters to keep him warm.

And in this case?  Well, it's only a dusting anyways.

So it must be time to play.  Come on, let's go!

Last day of 2006 and here comes the snow.

That's a little more than frost on the pumpkins.

Frito loved the snow.

He was happy to go outside to play in it.

Putting my paw down

This is Frito's way of saying he's done enough Frisbee fetching.

Now he wants to rest for a while.

So leave the frisbee alone ;-)

Cute in my safety orange

Some people can't pull off orange.

But Frito always looks sharp.

And he made everyone smile when they saw his vest.

Not to mention keeping himself safe during deer hunting season ;-)

Walking through the orchard

It's a little chilly, but not bad for just before Xmas.

Frito loved his walks, no matter the weather.

Especially if his girl was home.

Go Red Sox

2006 wasn't any better a year for the Red Sox than 2012.

But at least Alli and Frito could commiserate together.

Very colorful

Well, well, it seems both Frito and Alli are sporting some colorful clothing.

This was a beautiful fall day walking through a near-by apple orchard.

What a special pair these two make.

Late 2006, and Frito is visiting with Alli in our front yard.

Such a cute couple!

Bright eyed

Someone's looking all bright-eyed and bushy tailed.

OK, well at least bright eyed.

We noticed while we were overseas, that Germans don't bob their dogs tails.

It would have been cute to see Frito with a long tail.  

But it wouldn't have been bushy in any case ;-)

No slave to fashion

Thats Alpha we're talking about.

Nope, he's not a slave to fashion, that's for sure.

Velour is so ... 1970's ;-)

But hey, Frito was always in style, and went well with any outfit.

Butt massage

Looks like someone is getting a butt massage.

OK, officially that's the hind quarters.

Frito always yawned whenever he was getting some attention.

Never did understand that.

What time is it?

Looks like it's frisbee time ;-)

Top Dog

"Hey, look at me.

I'm the top dog.  I'm higher than Mom."

It's a beautiful day at our house.

"And I'm one happy poochie, can you tell?

Mom looks pretty happy too."

Frito's spirit and his voice are alive and well it seems.

Sometimes they just come out.

"OK, now flip my ear back please."

See what I mean?

Thinking about some frogs ...

... and how yummy they would taste ;-)

Actually, Frito never "ate" the frogs.

But he did try to catch them.  

And when he did, they were gonners.  (Thankfully, not that often.)

You could say it was Darwin at work, and the smartest ones got away.

Sorry little froggy spirits -- Frito was just following his instincts.

Explorin' with Mom

Here is Frito in our back woods, doing some exploring with Mom.

He's found a very tasty birch stick, and will be doing some serious gnawing soon.

Frito could be such a dog sometimes.

At least when he wasn't a people. ;-)

Good viewing from the sofa

This was one of Frito's favorite spots to sit.

High up on the leather sofa back.

He could turn around and look right out the window to see what the wildlife was up to.

He's seen lots of deer and wild turkeys, among other critters.

Frito's Anniversary!

Well today is Frito's anniversary.  (And this picture is from 2006.)

The day Alli brought him home to his new family.

So much love given and received.

What more can any man, woman, or pooch ask for.

Happy Anniversary Frito -- we will always love you.  

Thanks for being such a good dog to Alli, Greg, Mom, and Alpha.

The little runt

Here they are -- the dynamic duo.

Frito really loved her girl.

The girl that rescued him and showed him heaven on earth.

Frito had such a good life thanks to Alli picking out "the little runt."
