By the same river?

Here the river gets squeezed together by the rocks and really starts to roar. Don't worry, Alli, that's why I'm on my leash. It's a cool place. I like to see the river when its calm, and when its rushing. Same river? You tell me. (Hey, I can be philosphical too.)

Hiking with Dan

Dan is one of my favorite people. He took care of me while Mom and Alpha were on travel. And he likes to hike and takes me with him. Here we are sitting next to a natural water slide, right over some exposed granite. Cool! Thanks for being my buddy, Dan.

Frito plays Frisbee

I love to play Frisbee with Alpha. Sometimes I play fetch, and sometimes I just practice jumping. Here Alpha is trying to get me to see how high I can jump:

Maybe it's easier to see what I mean in this little movie clip:

Frito offers a peace kiss

I've now decided that I like Pedro. I don't have to lash out in anger any more -- so I offer him a peace kiss. Of course, Pedro's Mom is there in case it's just a trap. But it's not. We're buddies now. I mean, can you find anyone cuter than this little guy?

Except maybe this little guy:

A little butt sniffing

Hey, I don't want to hear it. You humans have some pretty strange rituals yourself -- kissing each other on each cheek, or shaking hands. At least we are not touching.

Frito greets Pedro

You may have seen my neighbor, Pedro, from one of the links off my blog. I admit it -- he's cute. But I haven't always been very friendly to the little guy. But I'm coming around -- it just takes me a little time. And just to make sure, Pedro's Mom is keeping a watchful eye on me. Hey, she's got cool shades.

Only the nose knows

OK, so I was wrong. I thought Alpha got too close with the camera. This shot is courtesy of Dan. Well, it does show how I look adorable at every distance. We can't all make that claim you know.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh, I'm just so excited! It's Thanksgiving, and it's early this year. That means I'm likely to get some yummy "whoopsies". Don't know what whoopsies are? Your loss ;-) OK, I'll explain -- it's when food accidently (on purpose) falls off the counters during dinner preparation. And someone says "whoopsie". So now you know. I hope you all have a nice turkey day. And me too, me too!

First one across the stepping stones

Sometimes (in fact most of the time), when I take Mom and Alpha hiking, I'm the one to blaze the trail. Here I found some stepping stones, and I have to make sure they are safe to cross the river. Yep, it's OK guys, you can follow me!

Somewhere in the woods

Still on my walk, somewhere in the woods. I really brighten up the fallen leaves, the mossy stone, and the dark woods, wouldn't you say?

Respite with Mom

Sometimes I hike, and sometimes I sit -- this time with my Mom on a bridge that covers Purgatory brook. We are a handsome couple, don't you think?

Next to the raging river

This is one of my favorite walks -- along the river to Purgatory falls. Recently it had been raining, so the river was really raging along. This seat is on a bluff at one of the bends in the river. Very picturesque; of course even more so with me in it!

Hiking with Mom

Look at me. Hiking with my Mom. I'm the foreground, and she's in the background, in case you were wondering.

Sitting with Mom in the sun

Sitting in the bright sun, right behind my Mom. She's as pretty as I am cute, don't you think? Let's hear it for mom -- woo hoo!

Swaddled like a baby

Look at me - I just came in from the rain. Soaking like a river rat. But Alpha is there for me -- with a nice dry towel, and lots of personal attention. Life is good.

You are my sunshine

Yes, yes, I know I'm everyone's sunshine -- hence my selection of towel with which to dry myself off. What, haven't you seen me dry myself off yet? Well take a look at this:

Just had a drink

Yes, I'm cute again. But I need to explain my wet moustache. You see, I just had a nice drink from the pond.

Give me back my mousie

Hey Alpha, that's my mousie. You can't have it. Now give it back to me. I growl at you while to hold on to it. Of course, I'm only playing ;-)

Looking over the lower forty

Reclining again -- this time in the back yard. Is this a theme? I guess we all like to take advantage of the nice weather.

Sitting on my Alpha

Alpha is taking in the Indian Summer again, reclining by the pond. So I'm happy to keep him compnay. Can you believe he takes his camera everywhere? Omigosh.

Sleeping with my Mom

Mom wasn't feeling so good on this day. She had caught Alpha's cold, and then it became pneumonia. So I had to offer some of my healing vibes. So I parked it right by her head on the sofa as she slept. I'm quite sure I help her recovery.

Just coming up to say 'Hi'

Hi Alpha. Just coming up to say "Hi!' There was probably food involved -- but either way, I just like to visit.

Me and my Alpha shadow

Alpha is holding me in one hand, with his camera in the other. What else would you expect. But it does make for an interesting photo, don't you think?

Fall extraordinairre

Fall is one of my favorite times of year. Crisp and clear, with leaves carpetting the forest floor. I just love it.

You are the greenie of my eye

You've seen my greenies before, but these are my action shots. Alpha teases me when giving me the Greenie (it's OK, I consider it part of the ritual). And it makes for such adorable photos of me, don't you think? Perhaps I do need to brush my teeth:

I see why they call it the Granite State

Check out the size of that granite. Huge exposed pieces to walk up the mountain. Quite steep at time. Wouldn't want to do it in the rain -- that must get slippery. Below you can see that I look good against any background -- even pure granite:

God I'm cute

Can anyone look this good against the clear blue sky? Nope -- didn't think so. When they made Frito, the broke the mold. He's just too cute!

Taking a respite

Clearly it was a beautiful day, and a somewhat challenging hike. Frito out performed the big dogs, but he was glad to take a break now and again. And so was Alpha.

Picture Perfect

So here we are, just a little past the peak foliage season, but I think Frito makes up for it with his stunning presence, don't you?
Just take a look at this cutie below:

Hiking with the big dogs

Frito went hiking with the big dogs the other day. A beautiful, crisp, clear fall day in the White Mountains. Here you see their owners, Jim and Kathleen. Frito became friends pretty quickly.

The red coon hound above is named Demsey. He has a great barritone hound dog woof, and also a squeaky-toy whine when he wants to get a move on. The golden lab below is named Emma. And that big guy against the deep blue sky is of course, Dan, Frito's god father.

Frito will regale you with some pictures from this outing in the coming days.
