Me, and my shadow(s)

Took a walk on a nice sunny day.

Alpha, you have some really large, weird growth on your hip -- maybe you need to get that looked at (hee, hee).

While we were out, we saw this pretty horse.

Now I don't want to hear and blond horse jokes, 'K?

Super tongue contest

One of the dogs we met on our walk wanted to to hold a super tongue contest.

I told him not to bother -- I am unbeatable.

But he still wanted to.

Oh puleeze. Not even close.

But I will say he was a nice dog.

My chinny-chin-chin

Looks like someone has be snow snuffling.

This happens when I smell something under the snow and I try to get a better sniff.

OK, Alpha. Nice we could have a photo together.

Now are you gonna give me any help there?

Foggy

Sometimes it gets cold and foggy in the woods around Germany.

But we still try to get out and take a walk.

Oh yeah, and Alpha still brings his camera (hee, hee)

Looking like an Ewok

Remember those small, furry critters that lived in the forests in Star Wars, Return of the Jedi?

Well I think I could maybe pass for one, donchathink?

Certainly have enough fluff, and with those tall trees in the background, I'm looking a little shorter than usual.

The frozen tundra

Hey Alpha ... what continent are we on? This looks and feels like Antarctica.

If I was supposed to be a penguin, I'd have big flippers and lots of belly fat. Do you see any belly fat?

I'm freezing my keister off here.

Hey, can we get a little global warming over here please?

Jealous

Hey Alpha? Whacha doing with pictures of other doggies on your camera?

Woah. Now I'm very jealous. We're you petting other doggies on your trip to Israel?

OK, so maybe not that jealous. At least the little munchkin wasn't pullin' on me.

Now could you please get back to Frito photos?

Does this make my butt look big?

I mean really.

Isn't this vest a tad small Mom?

What were you thinking?

How about this sweater? Does that look better?

I do have a sexy butt, and I like to show it off, donchaknow.

Shake it off!

This is something I have perfected later in life. I was just practicing here.

You've heard of flappin' your gums? Well, this is called flappin' my ears.

And you would be surprised how easily it get's Mom or Alpha's attention.

And much better than barking, I'm told ;-)

Comin' atcha!

Look out! I'm about to jump right out of your computer (or iPhone) and run right past you.

Here's lookin' at you kid!

Catch me if you can.

Me and my girl (x2)

Awwww look!

It's me and my girl!

Just chillin' on the driveway.

I think that deserves another shot, don't you?

Hi Alli! I miss you! Love you bunches.

Here's puppy slobbers for you! XOXOXO

Silky!

Well aren't you all getting a treat this week. Here's another close-up of me, this time lounging on the sofa.

Look how silky my hair is. I probably just had a bath.

Doncha just want to give me a hug?

Glistening

Don't I look good? Backlit in front of the chinese maple in our front yard.

And check out that tongue, wouldya?

Glad I could help make your day.

That feels good

Aww gee, thanks Cynthia. That feels good.

That's Pedro's Mom for those that aren't yet in the know. And now you are ;-)

Nothin' better than buttercups and butt massages (hee, hee).

I do miss visiting my neighbors in NH!

Monday, January 17, 2011

See that line?

Now you watch out Pedro. Alpha has drawn the line with his leg.

You cross that and there could be trouble between us.

BTW, I can flip my ear back farther than you (hee, hee)

OK, if you want to make up, I'll let you give me a kiss.

Just a little one, let's not get crazy now.

Bye-bye forsythia

Hey these petals look so yummy. Seems like a shame to let them go to waste.

Hee, hee. This is from the top of my street in NH.

Up close and personal

Hey there -- how are you doin?

Alpha fell behind a day. I don't know about you, but I'm going to cut him some slack.

He and Mom are getting ready for a trip. And I'm staying here (for a change).

And do you know what that means? It means Frito retro-spective time!

Lend me your ears

I mean -- really! Lend me your ears! It looks like someone stole both mine and Mom's.

What? What's that you say? I can't hear you -- remember, I'm missing my ears (hee, hee).

OK, Alpha, do you have any more bright ideas for photos?

Me and my shadows

Check out those really big, dark people that keep following me around.

I mean really -- they're kinda scary.

At least they are "tall" rather than "wide". In fact, this makes them look pretty skinny.

Is that why you took the photo Alpha? Hmmmmm?

In amongst the birch trees

This was a cool park Alpha found in neighboring Sindelfingen. He stumbled across it on one of his exploration runs. Which, by the way, I hear is a great way to run extra distance, because he often gets lost (hee, hee)

Anywho. We don't see many birch trees over here in Germany, so this was a nice treat. Like a mini-visit to New Hampshire.

Yep, we're happy campers.

Running through buttercups

Wow, check it out. I'm almost lost among the buttercups in a nearby field.

Of course, my cuteness does really stand out, donchathink?

I'm such a happy pooch!

Beauty with Flowers

Behind me are the flowers. That makes me the "beauty."

'Nuff said.

Think spring!

Gone shopping

This weekend, my parents took me shopping and lots of walking. This was a tour of vegetarian stores, and a vegetarian lunch in Vaihingen and Stuttgart. We were walking from about 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Wowsa.

But here's the really cool thing. I met Colleen. She's on extended TDY to EUCOM, and really missing her beagle. So I helped give her a doggy-fix. In fact, she wants to be my dog-sitter. How cool is that!

So my Mom and Colleen talked it over, and I'm going to stay with Colleen and her husband week after next. That will let Mom go with Alpha on a trip to Israel. Sounds like a win-win to me. You should see what a great doggie massage Colleen gives. Woo-hoo!

Here we are going home on the train. Can you tell I'm a tuckered out pooch! But it was a great day!

Getting a hug

Awwww, look at me and Mom. I'm getting a nice hug as we walk through the fields in Böblingen.

And look at all the beautiful buttercups in the background.

Gotta love these walks (and hugs).

Did I miss the party?

I have a feeling my Christmas clock is a little off.

But you see, my parents went tree-less (not to mention present-less) this year.

How exactly do you spell "Scrooge"? ;-)

I think we need to get Greg and Alli over here for the holidays. They'll bring the Xmas spirit I'm sure.

Otherwise, how am I supposed to know when it's Christmas?

Oh wait, I know ... whenever I hear Alpha singing along with John Lennon (hee, hee)

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun

And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong

And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun

Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

War is over over
If you want it
War is over
Now...

I'm not a vegan

Here I am luxuriating on my lamb's wool throw, which is on top of my leather sofa.

No problem there, for I am not a vegan.

Now my parents ...? I may have to tell them to sit on the floor (hee, hee)

Wednesday, January 05, 2011

OK, where's my treat?

I've had a bath, and done my rollin', rollin', rollin' ...

Now it's your turn to feed me. Now! (hee, hee)

I know you will, because I am such a cutie-pie.

Buddies

Aww gee, would you look at us. I guess that just shows that we're "buddies", eh?

OK Alpha, that was nice to let Mom take the picture. Now come on, put me down, so we can take our walk.

I mean jeez ;-)

Assume the position

So this is another "assume the position" pose. Basically, whenever the 'rents head out to run errands and I'm not joining them, I usually jump up on *our* bed, and sit on my dog blanket, where I have a good view of the front door.

That way, should anyone come in, I'll know whether to bark ferociously at the intruder, or jump down, run around, wag my tail, and greet my parents like they've been gone for hours (even if it was just a few minutes).

Yes, I know -- very generous of moi.

Listen up people!

video

This is Alpha telling you exactly how sorry he is for slacking recently.

He also says he's not going to do it again (yeah, right).

And finally, he says to make it up to you all, he is going to post a bunch of movie clips for the missed days -- so scroll on down and have a look.

And what am *I* saying? Well, I though that should be obvious. I'm teaching him how to say it in dogspeak (hee, hee).

Frito kicks in the new year

video

Happy New Year to all my peeps (hee, hee). I like to kick in the New Year with a bang. Pretty impressive, eh? OK, so I'm just kidding.

But just so you are not disappointed, here's another movie for you:

video

Look who it is -- my girl Alli! And see how she's playing frisbee with me. Isn't that nice.

I miss you Alli, and love you bunches.
