Good viewing from the sofa

This was one of Frito's favorite spots to sit.

High up on the leather sofa back.

He could turn around and look right out the window to see what the wildlife was up to.

He's seen lots of deer and wild turkeys, among other critters.

Not our furniture

This fabric does not look familiar.

I think it may have been in a cabin we rented on a trip to Nova Scotia.

Frito thought it was just dandy to check out the sofa.

And why not -- we never taught him otherwise.

But really, who wouldn't want this cutie pie sitting next to them?

Assuming the position

Now Frito is all recovered from his cruciate ligament surgery.

And he is beginning a tradition.

Laying against Mom's leg on the recliner sofa.

Frito was certainly a trend setter ;-)

Feeling better

According to the 2006 date on this photo, Frito would still have his cast on.

You just can't see it under his blanket.

But he is feeling better, and as usual, is unbelievably cute!

Head rush

Woah -- what a head rush.

Looks like I'm on the slide just a smidgen.

But that's OK, cause I'm very tired.

So long as I don't pass out literally, I'll be fine.

It's kinda like having my own hammock.

Without all that pesky netting that my paws fall through.

Tired after the groomer

Alli, this is my birthday present to you.

I got groomed just so I would look so cute for your B-day post.

But I have to tell you, I'm not up for that much excitement in one day.

See how tired I am?

Actually, I'm really tired.

Alpha watched me as I slowly fell over on to the sofa.

Yep, really, really tired.

And really really cute!

A prefect present, I think, for my girl!

Happy Birthday Alli!

Somebody's very tired

Ya see, I keep getting up -- every hour or so -- during the night.

And while Alpha *sometimes* helps out, it's mostly Mom that gets me water and lets me out to pee.

Three or four times each night. When she should be sleeping. ;-)

Of course that also means I'm tired too.

So just let me sleep when I can ... 'K?

Food please

Food please.

Or water.

Or take me out to pee.

Or time for a walk.

Or toss me some kibbles.

You get the idea.

I have my own personal assistant, and my wish is her command.

Sittin' with Mom

I have "assumed the position".

Lying next to Mom's legs on the sofa.

It's what I do.

That and eat, drink, and lick my chops ;-)

Lovely shades of brown

Have you seen how nice my fur, er, hair looks these days.

It's like I'm back to being just a young pup.

No more shades of gray (and no Grecian formula required ;-)

Yesiree.

Just some lovely shades of brown.

I'm not a vegan

Here I am luxuriating on my lamb's wool throw, which is on top of my leather sofa.

No problem there, for I am not a vegan.

Now my parents ...? I may have to tell them to sit on the floor (hee, hee)

(Not so) Big Dog (2004)

This is what "assume the position" used to mean.

I would often sit atop the leather sofa, and look out the window over my lower forty (OK, maybe my lower one ;-).

Or else I would look over your shoulder when you were sitting on the sofa.

And remind you who was the "big dog". Hee, hee.

All warm now

So after coming home, rolling to dry off, getting snacked and playing fetch, it's time to snooze.

This looks rather warm and cozy, donchathink?

I've even been known to wait by the sofa, and tell Mom to "assume the position", so that I can lie next to her legs. And she usually accommodates me.

Not that I have my parents wrapped around my little paw ... I'm just sayin'.

Sittin' on the sofa back (2005)

See, here I am on the back of the sofa, looking out our large picture windows at the back yard (and all the critters that visit).

Woah, gotta grab that boney and use it as a chin rest so it doesn't fall (unless, of course, I want to make Mommy or Alpha pick it up.) Hey Alpha? Wanna fetch? (hee, hee)

Young sofa too

Wow -- I guess that sofa's been around for quite a while as well.

Yep, I was only 4 years old at this point.

And the sofa is still quite comfortable, thankyouverymuch.

Hey, I'm back ... waaay back

Oh boy, what a (young) cutie pie I am. This photo is from back when I was only 3 years old.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm adorable.

But hey, it's the least I can do for you all.

Since I'm back, I figured I'd take you waaay back to some childhood pictures.

Sound like a plan?

Nice pad

See Mom's cool setup.

She has all her sewing and quilting equipment set up in the living room, along with her computer and large screen monitor.

And she's right where all the action is in the living room.

Including moi when I deign to sit on the sofa cushions.

Which isn't all that often (ya know, those sewing contraptions make some noise).

I call leather

That's right, for once, Alpha's butt is not hogging the leather.

So I call it. Kinda like calling 'shotgun'.

And don't try to take it back until I'm done.

The leather is nice and cool on a hot day. Ahhhh.

Yeah, I'm warm enough now

Well, one teensy-weensy issue I have with our new apartment is that it gets rather cold at night. This place isn't passive solar like our NH house.

But it seems that Mom and Alpha are always on the lookout for my comfort. Check out this mink blanket (from South Korea, not from little animals ;-) on my sheepskin on the leather sofa. It is soooo soft and cuddly and warm. Thanks guys -- I'm warm enough now, and feeling a little like the prince and the pea (hee, hee).

Stealin' the leatha

"Hey Mom, would you get me a snack?" (hee, hee, hee)

Sure enough, there she goes -- off the sofa -- over to the kitchen to get me my snack.

So I quickly and quietly move from "my spot" in the middle of the sofa (on the white sheepskin) ...

... over to Mom's seat (aka "the leatha").

And when she comes back, do you know what I say????

Come on, dooya????

"April Fool's Day!!!!" (ha, ha, haaaaa)

Sucker! (J/K)

And thanks for the snack too Mom. I'll get to that once I'm done with your seat ;-)
