So this is another "assume the position" pose. Basically, whenever the 'rents head out to run errands and I'm not joining them, I usually jump up on *our* bed, and sit on my dog blanket, where I have a good view of the front door.
That way, should anyone come in, I'll know whether to bark ferociously at the intruder, or jump down, run around, wag my tail, and greet my parents like they've been gone for hours (even if it was just a few minutes).
