Hi Alpha. Just coming up to say "Hi!' There was probably food involved -- but either way, I just like to visit.

Alpha is holding me in one hand, with his camera in the other. What else would you expect. But it does make for an interesting photo, don't you think?

Fall extraordinairre

Fall is one of my favorite times of year. Crisp and clear, with leaves carpetting the forest floor. I just love it.

You are the greenie of my eye

You've seen my greenies before, but these are my action shots. Alpha teases me when giving me the Greenie (it's OK, I consider it part of the ritual). And it makes for such adorable photos of me, don't you think? Perhaps I do need to brush my teeth:

I see why they call it the Granite State

Check out the size of that granite. Huge exposed pieces to walk up the mountain. Quite steep at time. Wouldn't want to do it in the rain -- that must get slippery. Below you can see that I look good against any background -- even pure granite:

God I'm cute

Can anyone look this good against the clear blue sky? Nope -- didn't think so. When they made Frito, the broke the mold. He's just too cute!

Taking a respite

Clearly it was a beautiful day, and a somewhat challenging hike. Frito out performed the big dogs, but he was glad to take a break now and again. And so was Alpha.

Picture Perfect

So here we are, just a little past the peak foliage season, but I think Frito makes up for it with his stunning presence, don't you?

Hiking with the big dogs

Frito went hiking with the big dogs the other day. A beautiful, crisp, clear fall day in the White Mountains. Here you see their owners, Jim and Kathleen. Frito became friends pretty quickly.



The red coon hound above is named Demsey. He has a great barritone hound dog woof, and also a squeaky-toy whine when he wants to get a move on. The golden lab below is named Emma. And that big guy against the deep blue sky is of course, Dan, Frito's god father.

Happy Halloween (someone call the ASPCA)

Hey ... BOOOO!!!! OK, so I'm not scary. In fact, I look a little silly. Stop laughing already. Oh my god, I just saw myself in the mirror. Quick, someone have Alli call the ASPCA. They can't do this to me. I have my dignity, ya know.

I look good on blue

Yep, I look good on blue. And on green, or black, or brown. Hey, I just look good!

Munchin' on alfalfa

We have a nice conservation field next to our house, and recently the farmer has been growing alfalfa. This is a great deer attraction, and even Frito seems to find it tasty. Yummmm.

Gettin' a drink

Ahhh.... After taking a walk with Mom and Alpha, and even running a little, it's nice to come home and get a drink from the pond. Sometimes, if I'm really hot, I'll even take a dip ;-)

Alpha gets too close

Wow. Alpha, can you get any closer with that camera? Oh well, lucky for you I'm cute from any distance. And I know Alli likes the close-ups. Hi Alli, how 'r you doin'?

Chillin' with my Alpha

A nice warm fall day, and Alpha wanted to recline a bit. So I decided to jump up and keep him company. Yep, I like to just chill when the sun is shining on a beautiful, crisp New England fall day.

Enough already with the photos

You can see my commentary on the camera (at least some of the time). I say ppfffffftt to Alpha. Or at least to his camera. I'd say give it a rest, but I know it is for my girl. So somehow I'll manage.

Chillin' with Mom

So after a few sprints chasing Mr. Hurl-a-Squirrel, I need a rest. Basically, I tell Alpha when I'm done -- I just plop myself on the grass (in this case next to Mom), and no longer show any interest in running my little legs off. So my Dad may be the 'Alpharater', but I'm still the one calling the shots. They should just get used to it.

Smoochin' with Kelly

Frito visisted with Kelly, his next door neighbor, and they were getting rather affectionate (or so it seemed). Be sure you are at least 3 dog-years old before viewing the rest of the photos below. They get a little, well, slobbery.

Also a Frisbee champ

In addition to my hurl-a-squirrel, I'd like you to know that I am also a Frisbee champ. Well, maybe that depends on how you define champ. I really like to eat my Frisbee.

Hurl-a-squirrel

Frito has had this toy for a few years, but recently it made an appearance out of the toy box. And what a hit.

Anytime I can be chasing and catching squirrels, then that is just the thing to do. No matter they are kinda flat with some weird round rope around them. It's still a squirrel! Look below to see me getting some exercise.

Multi-talented

Hey, can you scratch yourself behind the ear AND touch your nose with your tongue at the same time? Didn't think so.

Crazy for my mousie

Sometimes I just go crazy when playing with my mousie. You can see it in my eyes. Just crazy for my mousie!!! But still cute and adorable, too.

Adorable in the shadows

Sometimes all you need is just a cute and adorable picture of moi. Don't you think?

On Frito Pond

Yes, and now to the back of the canoe, where I sit with my Alpha. On Frito Pond. Hey, we could make a movie out of this, doncha think?

Checkin' it out

Walking down to the shoreline to see if there are any critters in the water. Check out this nice fall setting, with a red kayak in the background, some end-of-season flowers in the foreground, and leaves on the grass. Face it, I make anything look good.

Out for a canoe ride

One way to take advantage of the beautiful day is to take out the canoe onto the pond. I like to have the best seat, so I jump up on my Mom while she's paddling in the front. A small incovenience to be able to have my presence in your lap, right mom?

That's my cottage

Yep, there it is. One of my most favorite places. Because when Alpha is up there, he is usually outside doing something, and so I get to be outside also. Plus there are tons and tons of chipmunks. What more can a dog ask for?

On the dock

Sittin' on the dock by the pond ... Oh well, we've already done an Otis Redding reprieve, so I'll stop now. Just chillin' in the nice fall sun. I just love it at the cottage.

That was yummy

We went down to the Warner Fall Foliage Festival. They serve a nice BBQ chicken lunch, and Alpha gave me some of his (quite alot actually ;-) It was very yummy in my tummy. Until we had to drive back to the cottage -- on the windy, curvey, serpentine road. You can imagine the outcome.

On the boardwalk

Here I am on one of my early morning walks. Alpha decided to make this one a "photo walk" So we walk down many of the closed up cottages, and check out the view from their docks. This is a brand new dock (I hope it survives the winter ice). Very nice. See my early morning shadow?

Misty Tucker Pond

It was a beautiful weekend at Tucker Pond. Alpha and I got up early each morning to find mist on the water, as the sun worked to burn through. Clear blue, warm fall days, with no skeeters. Now this is my kind of weather.

Frito Returns

Well, Alpha never recovered those lost Frito pictures (back up your hard drive today!). But we see that the Coffey's and Alli teamed up to fill the gap. Thanks!

And now, after a beautiful Columbus Day weekend at the cottage, we have some replacement photos. So we are back in business, right Frito? That's right, Alpha.

Scaredy Cat...

Here is Frito showing off his scaredy side. Just being near the spiderwebs makes him close his eyes tight and hope he's just having a puppy dream!


(Either that or he's really just soaking in the warm sun...)

Detective Frito...

This is Alli's personal favorite (or at least one of them, how can I pick just one I mean they are all so adorable)! Not only is Frito super cute posed with the Gargoyle and some cute happy pumpkins but he is also testing his detective skills sniffing around.

A Traditional Fall Pose

Frito is looking all too gorgeous on the front steps. This could definitely be a Fall or Thanksgiving card! The pumpkins, plants and the granite just all accent Frito's colors so beautifully.

This Photoshoot is Exhausting!

Frito is pretty tired from the first half of his stunning photoshoot so he is taking a little break. And wouldn't you all agree that he definitely deserves it!

Frito and Some New Friends

Wow, Frito is just making friends left and right now and trust me they are not just new doggy friends. Take a look a his two newest buds.


It even looks as though Frito is practicing some of his acting skills as he is posing with the geese! I must say, he's pretty convincing!

Here is Frito smiling and just looking handsome. He's enjoying the beautiful fall New England weather as well as creating a very artsy shot just by being himself and looking handsome!

I can't be left out! That's no fair!

Frito has been a little down ever since Choo Choo's commissioning since he was unable to attend and is feeling a little left out! We just can't let little Frito feel left out because that's no fair so Joey and Mrs Coffey came to the rescue. Let's just say it involved bringing out the Marine Corps flag...

All Hail King Frito

Well, for those of you avid readers of Frito-a-day and dedicated fans, you are aware that Alpha, the usual poster, is having some computer hard drive problems. But not to fear, Frito convinced the awesome Joey and Mrs. Coffey to take him on a photoshoot to provide some new material! So here is the first installment...enjoy.



As you can see, Frito is the king of his yard and he is too darn cute posing with the little Japanese statue, showing all fellow critters who's boss!
