Risky drinking spot

Woah. That's ridiculously steep!

But you know me, I am truly amazing.

Yep, and not just a photo trick.

Really was a steep slope into the frog pond.

But no problem for moi.

I C U

No no, don't worry, just say the letters.

I C U ... "I see you".

As in, I see you and your reflection as I take a drink of this nice water.

Or at least Alpha does.

Drink when you can

Early in our walk, we came upon a nice stream.

It had a path down to the water, so I went for a drink.

Gotta get the water when you can ;-) Especially when the 'rents are still doling it out at home.

Boy, that's steeper than it looks.

Hold on to that leash Mom and don't let me fall in.

That would be chilly!

Getting a little hot

So like I said, it's getting a little hot.

Being up at this elevation also means we feel the sun more (less atmosphere).

And I'm basically a solar collector on paws. So I can get really toasty.

So this looks like a good time for a watering hole.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Very refreshing.

Yummy water

I'm on a restricted water intake diet, per the vet.

Something to do with too much water washing out the effects of my medicine.

So boy-oy-boy do I like it when they let me drink out of the pond.

They can't measure how much water I drink (hee, hee)

Another day, another adventure

This time we decided to take the Falferalp (cable car) back up to the Lötschental Höhenweg, but this time head in the other direction -- further down the valley, to see what we might see.

As you can see, it was a sunny day, so Mom donned her knew hi-tech sun hat.

And I concur it was really pretty hot (at least when there was no shade).

This shows you where we are headed. All the way down in that valley there is a dam collecting glacial melt. Maybe we'll get to see it up close.

But for now, it's time for a nice cooling drink from one of those glacial runoff streams. Yummy.
