Froggin'

OK, Frito is scoping out the situation.

Does he see any frogs swimming in the pond?

Yes, indeedy.  Time to try a sneak attack.

Yeah, Frito was never very sneaky.

The frogs always let Frito get some exercise, and then dove under water.

But I don't think Frito minded.

After a good swim, nothing like a good roll on the grass to get all messy.

Ahhhh, summertime around the garden pond.

Well hi there!

So post bath, I've been drying myself off on some beach towels.

I'm pretty dry now.

Well, maybe just a little bit more on my back.

And on my side as well.

Gotta be all clean, dry, and sweet-smellin' for the 'rents, donchaknow.

This is why they give me a towel

Otherwise, I'm just going to roll on whatever is near by to help dry off.

Grass and leaves and other debris. Dirt and sand.

Oh yeah, trust me, I can make myself very dirty.

But hey, when I'm up at the cottage, all I have to do is jump back into Tucker Pond and I'm clean again!

Very Vigorous

Well, after finishing up a nice walk outside, I was a little wet and dirty.

So there was only one thing left to do. My very vigorous rubbing and rolling on the towels.

There! Now I'm beautiful. And I don't even use a brush or hair dryer ;-)

Nothin' but cute

Well, you guys are really lucky, see.

'Cause Alpha got a bunch of photos of me drying off that just show how my cuteness is beyond comparison.

And I get a little spunky too when I do my rollin' rollin' rollin'.

Just because I love you guys, one more picture of cuteness for good measure.

You really can never have too many of those ;-)

Now comes the best part

You see, after the bath, when I'm soaking wet, Mom or Alpha bundle me up in a towel and dry off most of the water.

It's nice and cozy, and I really like it. At least for a few minutes.

'Cause after that, I just have to roll!

Hair dryer? We don't need no stinkin' hairdryer!

OK, the bath is done, and I've been quickly buffed to get off some of the bath water. But now I need to take matters into my own hands, er, paws.

Time to do some rollin'. Watch my video and see how it's done. You really have to be ready for some vigorous exercise. Just imagine if this was your technique to dry off each morning -- boy, you'd get into great shape (like me ;-) in no time.

How to be a dog

I gave Mom and Alpha a quick lesson on how to be a dog.

Ya see, I was walking back home through the fields, and right there, in the middle of the pristine snow, I smelled something gross and disgusting. You couldn't see anything. Whatever it was was buried under the snow. Only someone with a super-sniffer could have found it.

So what did I do next? You guessed it. Stop, drop, and roll. I only wish it had been exposed, because then I would have gotten my vest all gross and disgusting.

Well there you have it. Lesson #1 in how to be a dog.

Freeze frame

That's what Alpha did here. Freeze-frame He turned on the flash while I was drying myself off on the towel. Freeze-frame After a nice dip in Tucker Pond. Freeze-frame Notice the startled look on my face. Freeze-frame Hey, how would you like a zoom lens and flash stalking you just about everywhere you go. Freeze-frame

Someone needs to have a talk with Alpha. That man is possessed. Freeze-frame (Great J Geils Band song, BTW)

Mr. Porcupine

Let's hear it for bath time! Yep, I got a nice long walk yesterday, and since it was just a tad warmer, the road had mud and dirt all over it, and let's just say I was a mess!

But Mom gave me a nice bath (which I really am starting to like), and then Alpha dries me off as much as he can. But you see -- my fur is very long at present (one must keep warm, you know), so it takes a lot of extra effort to get totally dry.

First comes the full body rolls on the towels, You've probably seen movies about this in the past.

Then comes extended froggy legs to get the belly dry. I'm very thorough you know.

Then comes time to fluff up the fur (and shake out any excess water). And that's where Mr. Porcupine comes in. I'd never noticed this before. Must be thanks to Alpha's new camera. Woo hoo.
