Quite a tongue

I'm visiting the Vet, so I get a little bit nervous.

So what does Alpha do?

Well, of course, he takes pictures.

Thanks for all the comforting Alpha.

Jeez.

But at least you all are the lucky ones, since you get to see another Frito close-up!

Color coordinated

See, it kinda goes like this. I've been losing my hair, so my parents took me to the vet to see what's what.

Dr. Essig had to take some blood for tests, hence the yellow bandage. Pretty cool color match, eh?

So they think I have this condition where I'm getting too much cortisol into my system. It's like being stressed out.

Dr. Essig will do a more in-depth test when my parents return from vacation. And if so, there is a pretty straightforward treatment (just a small pill a day) that should be able to help.

I'm glad Mom worried enough to take me in to see the vet. She's always looking out for me, donchaknow.

Heffalump

Well, you are seeing some of my many disguises. However, this one was not intentional.

You see, I recently had my rabies vaccine, and shortly thereafter, I stated to become a "Heffalump." This is me just sitting on the floor, not wanting to move.

I was just moping around, not feeling well, and eventually, I started limping.

So my parents took me to the Vet again. I've had an auto-immune disorder in the past, so they (and the Vet) were worried about that possibility.

But guess what? I was diagnosed with Lyme disease! In the middle of the winter! So it must have been in my system, and the rabies vaccine did something to my immune system to let it come to the surface.

Well, they started treating me with antibiotics, and the good news is ...

I'm no longer a Heffalump. I feel all back to normal -- my old spunky self!

Woo hoo!

Cared for

It's nice to know ... when you are not feeling well ... that someone is there to care for you.

That's how I feel. Thanks to everyone that makes me feel that way. I love you all.

Earlier ... A little worried

Perhaps you can tell. This is when we first went to see the Vet. I'm a little worried. And Mom's a little worried. And Alpha? Taking more pictures ;-)

Basically, I seemed perfectly normal the night before, but then in the morning, I was lethargic, and would not eat my breakfast. Now anyone that knows me, knows that means something is wrong.

Mom and Alpha figured it was probably just the doggie-flu, but since this was a Saturday, and it would be hard to see the Vet on Sunday if I hadn't gotten any better, they brought me in.

The Vet has Yorkies of her own, and was worried that it might be Pancreatitis. So I checked in to the doggie hospital. I am now out, and recuperating, but it was a good thing I was treated aggressively. No fun, but still a good thing.

Thanks everyone for caring and worrying about me. I'm going to be fine, and in the process, hope to get Mom and Alpha healthier as well. We are all going on diets!

Recuperating

It may be hard for you to tell. But I'm recuperating. Perhaps you can see the shaved spot on my right front leg. That's where the IV was located :-(

I was a pretty sick puppy. In the hospital for five days. Turns out I had Pancreatitis. Probably from not eating a healthy diet. So now, it's going to be very strict -- no cheese (even low-fat), and all snacks will have to be Mom and Alpha approved (and they've been suitably scolded by the vet). Right now, I'm getting boiled chicken (so hey, it could be worse).

I'm definitely getting better, but probably still only at about 70%. I'll tell you more about it later. Right now I need to rest some more ;-)
