Check out the size of those pine cones. Omigosh! Those babies are heavy and sharp -- I sure wouldn't want one to fall on me.
Here we are on a trail walk in the San Gabriel mountains. Perhaps you can tell by Alpha's shadow that he's carrying one of those pine cones back to the camp site. At least that is when Mom wasn't carrying it ;-)

Holy moly... those pine cones are GIANT! Wonder if you'll see any giant acorns around somewhere?! Looks like you guys are having a great trip!
Actually, Mom did find some pretty big one (though they looked more like pecans). But they had nuttin' ;-) on those pine cones!
