Weekend in Lucerne

So here I am with Mom, in front of the famous Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) over the Reuss River that exits Lake Lucerne.

This bridge was originally built in 1333 to help folks get to Church ;-) Now it helps tourists get to shopping (hee, hee).

And check out this funky bathroom. Which just happened to be located in a funky hotel room. But it was pretty cool -- all except for those church bells -- we were right next door ;-)

That's a good point John.

But I think my Mom would be the "belle" of the ball -- don't you think?

Hee, hee.

Wow, that is definitely an avant-garde looking bathroom (is that the right term?). Very cool at any rate... too bad about the bells though. Frito needs his beauty sleep =)

Yes -- avante-garde describes this place pretty well. Or quirky also works ;-)

"Avant-garde represents a pushing of the boundaries of what is accepted as the norm or the status quo, primarily in the cultural realm." You could say that this room pushed many boundaries -- especially those associated with a quiet night's sleep (hee, hee)

Lucerne is certainly a beautiful city with lots of wonderful walking opportunities for mon poochie. The church bells were a BIG drawback, and the hike up a couple flights of very steep stairs to the room wasn't the best either :) The proximity to the marathon was promo though!

And most importantly ... the fact that I got to come along! Woo hoo!
