I've got flare

OK, so maybe it's just lens flare in the photo.

But I can strut my stuff too.

And apparently I can go stealthy when needed.

Can anyone find moi?

It's getting late

Well, it's a late walk tonight.

And the sun is setting in front of me.

So that means I get the golden glow of golden hour.

A photographer's best time for photos.

And guess what -- Alpha has his camera -- big surprise there!

Big Smile

Look who's got the big smile today -- it's Alli!

And that's probably because she's just so darned happy to be taking me on a walk.

Way to go, Hawaii girl. I hope you don't freeze too much ;-)

Well, at least it's not really-really cold right now.

And as you can see -- not a white Christmas for us.

Hey, ya know what? I'm totally OK with that ;-)

Hugs with Mom and Alpha

Out for a nice walk today with Mom and Alpha.

We took one of the long routes, and for just about all of it, I was able to be off-leash.

But as you can see, every once in a while, I got picked up by Mom to keep me safe (from a car on the trail, or some big dog).

I don't mind -- it's nice to get a hug from Mom.

Now in the case of Alpha, he's just glamming for a photo op.

Lucky for him I'm in the picture.

Otherwise -- straight into the bit bucket, if you know what I mean ;-)

Quite the sky

Check out that sky.

What a cool day for a walk along the hillside, donchu think?

Thanks Mom and Alpha for giving me the expanded walk today.

Keep up people!

Hey guys, can you keep up?

I mean, come on ... there's no one around, no dogs, no bicycles, no walkers.

Can you pick up the pace a little?

Oh, never mind.

I'll come back for ya. I know you've still got some jet lag.

Out for a walk

Well, we can't complain about the weather in Germany. Just beautiful days right now.

With wild flowers bloomin' and me out for a walk, what could be better?

Out for a great walk

We're walking around the fields near our home, and this section is way off the beaten path.

And what a beautiful path it is.

Oh, thank you Spring. ;-)

Wishing the snow were gone (now!)

I like looking back and seeing these photos with Mom wearing shorts.

Now that's the kinda day I like for my walk.

Uh-Oh. Hey Mom?

Will you make sure this circling hawk doesn't mistake me for some rodentia?

No more photos, please

After I've had enough of Alpha, I just start to boycott his photos.

I mean, he'll have to stop when he has no willing subject. right?

Maybe not.

At least it's a nice day for a walk.

Casting a long shadow

Who is that dashing and studly looking Yorkie?

Oh wait, that's moi (hee, hee).

Hey, what can I say -- when you've got it, flaunt it.

Now come on you guys, let's go catch those walkers up ahead. I need some more adoration.

Another drive, another walk

Ya see, even though I have great walks right out my back door, Mom and Alpha like to show me some sites too.

So we load up the little Honda Fit, and just take a drive. Alpha sets the TomTom for "avoid highways" and we just cruise all the country roads.

Then eventually, when it's time for a stop, they look for some cool woodland path. Like this one.

Now tell me ... am I a lucky dog or what?

Up on the ridge

How's this for a view. Right across the street from where we live. We can see this ridge (well, not quite this point) out our living room window.

What's great about it is that it is all fields (or little garden plots), and therefore gets full sun. Which is partcularly appreciated on these cold winter days.

Walking in Springfield, OR

While we are waiting for our solar installation to be completed, Mom and Alpha found a nice walk to take to give me some exercise. This is much better than riding in the RV for long stretches, as was required to get up here.

The path follows along a local river, and is off the main road, so I can explore on a long leash, and check out all the new smells.

And here's the McKenzie River and one of its tributaries. These guys in Oregon sure do have lots of water!

Bittersweet jail

I went out for a walk in the fields the other day. It was pretty cold with quite a lot of snow.

One section of the walk home goes by lots of bittersweet along an old stone wall. Critters love to make their homes in that area, because it is somewhat protected.

So I had to go check that out. But look at me -- I'm locked in a bittersweet jail (hee, hee)

Actually, I was able to get out no problem. And I thought I looked pretty sharp in my candy stripe sweater.

So I figured you all deserved a clear shot. Dashing, aren't I?

Me and my shadow

Two of us got to go out on a walk the other day. Me -- and my shadow (hee hee). He followed me everywhere!

Let's hear it for nice sunny days (especially when it's cold).

And speaking of cold, I say pppfffttt to that (perhaps you can see me sticking out my tongue ;-)

But at least I look good in my preppy sweater!

Walking with the big people

My goodness they must be tall. Just have a look at their shadows!

And where is my shadow by the way? Hey, these people are spooky!

Nah, that's just Mom and Alpha (hee, hee)

Walking with Mom

Mom is getting up pretty early these days, and taking me out for my morning walk.

I'd say I'm pretty lucky. Well, she is too. After all, look who she gets to hold!

Walkin' and Restin'

Check it out. I recently was on one of my morning walks with Mom and Alpha, and they decided to take a detour and ALSO let me play in the apple orchard! Woo hoo!

But as perhaps you can tell, it was getting HOT, so we decided to take a break and rest a bit. I just love my walks!

Enjoyin' my walks

I hope Alpha's friend of a friend doesn't mind. But a lady named Bobbie Brooks wrote a poem to go along wth a picture of a dog -- and well, let's face it, I'm sooo much cuter than that other dog -- so I thought I might "borrow" the poem, because it really does capture my view of the world. Here goes:
What dogs say ... By Bobbie Brooks

are we done already? do we hafta go back?
i chased a squirrel an' two rabbits an' a chipmunk
an' i ‘most caught the chipmunk an'
i found where the deer sleep an' the tree where owl eats an'
can’t we do walkies s’more?
an' climbed on some AWESOME bigbig rocks
an' peed on lots of stuff so’s the other folks know we were here
an' lapped coldcoldcold from the creek an' yelled
at that stupid crow to stop followin’ us an'
do we hafta go back? i can fetch a stick for ya
throw me one throw me one throw me one
do we hafta go home?
i found some bird bones wanna see ‘em?
an' where turtle hides under a log but he was too
busy bein’ a rock
an' smelled poop an' ran fastfastfastfastfast
with the wind an' chased it away an'
rolled in something WONDERFUL
an' more walkies? moremoremore?
more?
